The Mi Buen Camino application may collect the following personal data: a) Account data: user identifier, email address, name and profile picture (if Google Sign-In is used). b) Usage data: information about app usage, interactions with app features, technical events necessary for service operation. c) Location data: approximate location or routes voluntarily entered by the user, data related to Camino de Santiago stages. d) Technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, authentication tokens.
3. Purpose of data processing
Personal data is used to: provide access to and operation of the application; enable login and account management; store routes, stages, and user-generated content; improve app experience, performance, and stability; comply with legal obligations when required.
4. Legal basis for processing
Data processing is carried out based on: performance of a contract (to provide the requested services); user consent (for certain features, e.g. location or notifications); legitimate interest (to improve performance, security, and maintenance of the service).

The application uses third-party services that may process personal data: Google Firebase (authentication, backend, technical analytics), Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, caching systems), Google Sign-In, OpenStreetMap (maps and geographic data). The application may include external links to third-party services, such as accommodation booking platforms (e.g., Booking). Some of these links may be affiliate links, meaning the controller may receive a commission at no additional cost to the user. By using Google services, some data may be processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Such transfers are carried out in accordance with appropriate legal mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
